Astellia combat5/21/2023 Otherwise, the gameplay is similar to other Far East of Eden games, featuring overworld map traveling and first person perspective, turn-based combat. If you lose against a boss enemy, the game is not over, but instead, a branching storyline path is revealed. You can tackle many missions in any order you want, and the storyline also changes depending on the outcome of major battles. The most important new feature of the game is a non-linear storyline. The land Jipang is very similar to medieval Japan, and during your adventure you'll also visit Mongolia, China, and other Asian countries. You play as either Tenran or Aoi, a teenage boy and girl, respectively, on quest to defeat the ancient evil that threatens the prosperous land of Jipang, to prove themselves worthy of the legendary Fire Clan, warriors who have been protecting Jipang for many generations from evil demons and warlocks. The game continues the tradition of the series. It has a unique magic system and different pathways the story can take depending on in-game choices. EXFO acquires Astellia Published on Febru25. If you want interesting distractions from the main combat formula and enjoy grinding mobs endlessly then Ascent: Infinite Realm is your game.Oriental Blue is an RPG from the Far East of Eden series. If you want a more classic wow esque pve mmo experience that doesnt force you into daily schedules go for Astellia. Tl:dr: If you like crafting and farmville esque management games and can manage to play every day, archeage is your game. Learning how and when to deploy your astels and managing your card deck is very addictive and imho the main selling point of the game. The Astel system is easy to learn and surprisingly complex at the same time. It doesnt have much class variety either. Pvp is barebones and not all that interesting. Of the three games Id say Astellia is closest to the classic mmo formula of dungeons and grinding gear in group content. As with the dungeon runs that Ive just mentioned, theres both solo and group versions of arena combat for PVP fans and the games horde mode for PVE fanatics. The combat is mediocre at best but it makes up for that with lots of PVE content and a fair game model that doesnt require logging in every day to keep up with the time gating. Mecha and airship combat are fun distractions from what is otherwise a pretty standard korean grinder.Īstellia: Imho the best of the three. the housing is great, though and similar to archeage in that it is not instanced. I cant recommend it for how grindy endgame content is and how repetitive it becomes after level 30. Astellia is a fantasy MMORPG where players are invited to protect the lives of innocents as one of five character classes, and summon mythical creatures called Astels (pets) to help save the world. It does get very repetitive throughout the leveling process and the world is pretty ugly. Most of the content is designed around PVP On the upsides, archeage naval content is amazing, gliders are fun and the farmville aspect is very addictive.Īscent: Infinite Realm: Has the best combat of the three and lots of endgame content. There is also no real challenging PVE content to keep pve players entertained. It also has many first come first serve mechanics in which players that cant play on the initial land grab day (saturday the 30th) will be at a disadvantage for a very long time. Also Archeage heavily benefits from keeping your PC running over night, which imho is terrible game design. You cant play on tuesdays and wednesdays? Well there go your crops. You like to play more on weekends? Well too bad. It doesn't allow for a very personalized schedule. Also Archeage is very timegated in its structure, which seems like a good thing for someone who doesnt have much time to invest into a game until you actually stop to think about it: Archeage forces you to login every day to manage your crops, do dailies, consume labor. They ruined so many mmos its not even worth considering they wont do the same for AAU. To me, neither of these games are perfect and it comes down to what activities you enjoy most about mmos.Īrcheage unchained: actually a pretty good game but the publisher Gamigo is not trustworthy. I played vanilla Archeage and Astellia CBT1 and 2 such as Ascent: Infinite realm.
